Paul and Sarah:
'We contacted Cherrie to help transform an area of our garden into a precious space to remember our late daughter. We had an existing tree and arbour as key focal points but were struggling with the plants and layout as the area suffers from poor water drainage and we wanted some colour throughout the seasons. Cherrie, took the time to listen to our family story and learn about our daughter and our hopes for the garden as well as understand our gardening ability/time and included our oldest daughter in this process.
The designs Cherrie created were beautiful, personal and reflective of what we were looking for. She explained the meaning behind her choices and how they linked to aspects of our story. We felt Cherrie became emotionally connected with what we were trying to achieve with our garden and became essential in making it happen.
Cherrie helped recommend a landscaper and took the time to explain to them the designs and then worked with them throughout the build to ensure the outcome worked. We wanted to be part of the process so Cherrie provided a plant list and helped us plant the garden along with our other daughter (aged 7).
The memory garden created is so beautiful. The improvements made, mean we can now enjoy the space all year round and it’s held up well despite the abundance of rain. We look forward to the space evolving and growing over time as we go through the seasons and years.
We struggled for years to understand how we could progress with the garden and can’t thank Cherrie enough for all the little details and support she has given us to bring it all to life.'
Peter and Jane:
'We started with a very small town garden that was a jungle when we moved in. Cherrie had been recommended by a friend and quickly absorbed our wishes. Our brief of ‘No pots, No yellow, No water’ was translated into detailed plans, both planting and 3-D view, of what she had in mind. She proved professional, knowledgeable and fun to deal with. One of us is disabled and wheelchair friendly paving was readily incorporated. Cherrie sourced and did all the planting herself. She also brought along a very good landscaping firm. The garden is now a joy to behold and we are extremely pleased with the result. We would happily recommend Cherrie to anyone.'
Carl and Amanda:
'We had already spent some years refurbishing our house and developing a very large neglected garden, but felt we needed some expert help to improve some areas. This was our first experience of working with a garden designer and Cherrie put us at ease from the first meeting. She is down to earth, professional, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does - Cherrie created a set of designs that really delivered on our brief - but more importantly, she spotted what the space needed. Nothing too radical, but some very intuitive changes that made a world of difference to how it feels and how we use it. That is a real talent. The result is a contemporary cottage garden that sits comfortably with the house, opens up the large plot and connects it to the rural landscape beyond.
Cherrie was always on hand to answer any questions throughout the build process and went above and beyond to help with many other aspects of the garden/refurb project. I would highly recommend.'
Claudia:
'Having had a very good experience with Cherrie designing our rental flat in Bristol a few years ago,
we contacted her to discuss our garden, remotely as we live in Spain.
Cherrie then had us send detailed measurements and photographs of our garden area with its pool.
After the consultation period where we discussed our needs and desires Cherrie then supplied us with a detailed design and further beautifully drawn explanatory drawings.
We were very impressed with her ability to take what we wanted and create an imaginative and well functioning use of the space.
For what was a daunting project for us we are now excited to create the beautiful space that she has designed.
I can’t recommend her enough; her patience, commitment to the project and sympathetic approach.'

'Cherrie has transformed our garden with skill, sensitivity and good humour. The brief was to make more usable and less labour intensive a tricky third of an acre sloping plot. Cherrie came up with excellent designs that created more usable space, kept or redeployed much of the existing intensive planting and rocks and kept the bones and spirit of the existing garden. She also took into account our planting request while adding her own touches (she is a highly knowledgeable plants-woman) while ensuring there is plenty of space for our children.
Cherrie was a pleasure to work with over what was quite a protracted project. She works to schedule, is always responsive to questions and happy to share her considerable knowledge. Definitely recommend.'
Amanda and Fi:
'What care and attention to detail! Cherrie took time to understand us, what we liked, what we didn’t. She fully understood our goals and dreams for our garden. She then went away and came back with a truly inspiring design that gave us not just what we knew we wanted and the details we hadn’t thought about! From colours, plants and options we are so pleased with the results that we now have “an extra room” in the form of our beautiful garden. I would not hesitate in recommending Cherrie to transfer your garden into a peaceful oasis to enjoy the end of day glass wine or start of day breakfast.'
Liz:
'Cherrie first started working with us in 2014. After my husband died, Cherrie became a great support, making decisions around the garden and inside the house! She continues to consult with ideas to keep the garden looking fantastic and I’m not sure what I’d have done without her guidance, support, sense of fun and enormous talent & creativity- both inside and outside the house. I can’t imagine life without her!'
Susan and Philip:
'We are lucky to have a very large garden but the layout was unruly and it was difficult to manage. We contacted Cherrie who provided a brilliant service. She was thoughtful to our views and came up with a design that had immediate impact but more importantly gave much scope for the garden to develop as we are both keen gardeners. There is colour all year round and her planting has meant it is very insect friendly. Six years on and the garden brings us joy everyday. We even framed some of Cherrie’s designs. I would certainly recommend Cherrie if you are looking for a garden designer.'
Elizabeth and Rory:
'Cherrie designed the landscaping and then planted up our large garden around our old cottage in 2013. She is artistic and inspired, knowledgeable and practical. All her concepts have come to fruition and we have a beautiful garden which is much admired. Cherrie was great to work with, listened to us and gave us the benefit of her expertise and creativity.'
Marjorie and Tony:
'It was a pleasure to have Cherrie on board who was able to take our concept and convert it to an amazing reality. Her professionalism and knowledge are second to none and only matched by her warm and cheerful personality. Our completed garden looks an absolute picture and is giving us so much pleasure with the array of shrubs and plants. We would highly recommend Cherrie to anybody.'
